CARBON OFFSETTING
At TJ Squared we care about our planet. As a company that regularly ships large volumes of visual merchandising to customers around the world, we are aware of our responsibility when it comes to limiting our emission greenhouse gases and endeavour to take a proactive stance in the fight against global climate change.
While we do our best to limit our emission footprint by consolidating shipments and choosing suppliers that are located closer to us (see ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY CHOICES GUIDE PRODUCTION) and overhauling our packaging concept (see SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING), we are constantly working to improve.
COMPENSATING ALL TRANSPORT EMISSIONS
We at TJ Squared are proud to be first movers in the visual merchandising industry by actively cancelling out the effect of all greenhouse gases emitted when we ship material to our customers. Through collaboration with a Swiss non-profit organisation we have committed to supporting a number of greenhouse gas reducing initiatives through their international portfolio.
The cost of this initiative is of course 100% covered by TJ Squared and our customers will not have to do anything for offsetting to be made on their behalf.
Our choice of organisation through which do our offsetting was done only after careful deliberation and our decision was influence by the following factors:
- Through collaboration with an professional climate protection organisation engaged in more than 140 emission reducing product projects in 41 countries globally, TJ Squared has assurance that we work with a trusted organisation, that has the resources and capabilities to adequately support projects in their portfolio.
- With projects that are certified to international standards such as Gold Standard, Plan Vivo and REDD+ TJ Squared can verify that the offsetting payments we make, on behalf of our customers, are not lost through high administration costs and are distributed to worthy causes.
- All greenhouse gas reducing projects engaged in by our offsetting partner are selected, not only based on the amount of greenhouse gases they offset, but also on how the projects contribute to a wider sustainable development through the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This aligns perfectly with the focus areas of TJ Squared’s own ESG, with several projects contributing to SDG no. 8, 12 and 15 respectively.
